Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Overview

Monitarr is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your data belongs to you, and we've built our app to minimize data collection while maximizing functionality.

Data Collection

Monitarr connects directly to your self-hosted services without intermediary servers processing your personal data.

Service Credentials

Your server URLs, API keys, and authentication credentials are stored locally on your device using secure keychain encryption. They are never transmitted to Monitarr servers in unencrypted form.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you create an account and enable cloud sync, your service configurations are encrypted end-to-end on your device before being stored in the cloud. Your encryption key never leaves your device. We cannot read your API keys or credentials.

Account Information

If you create an account, we store your email address for authentication purposes only. Guest mode is available for users who prefer not to create an account.

Subscription Data

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat collects anonymous purchase and entitlement data to process transactions. No personally identifiable information is shared with RevenueCat beyond an anonymous user identifier. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy for details.

Personal Information

We do not collect names or any personally identifiable information through the app beyond what is required for account creation (email address, if you choose to create an account).

AI Assistant

When you use the AI Assistant feature, your service data context (such as library statistics, queue status, and recent activity summaries) is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate responses. No API keys, passwords, or server URLs are included in these requests. AI conversations are stored locally on your device and are not sent to Monitarr servers.

Push Notifications

Push notifications are planned for a future update. When implemented, Apple's Push Notification Service or Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging will be used to deliver alerts. You will be asked for permission before any notifications are sent.

Local Storage

All app data, including your service configurations, preferences, and cached content, is stored locally on your device. This data is protected by platform security mechanisms and is not accessible to other apps.

Third-Party Services

Monitarr communicates directly with your configured services such as Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Overseerr, Jellyseerr, SABnzbd, qBittorrent, Docker, and Portainer. These communications occur between your device and your servers. We recommend using HTTPS to encrypt this traffic.

Data Deletion

You can delete all your local data at any time by uninstalling the app or using the "Delete Account & Data" option in Settings. This will permanently remove your account, cloud-synced data, and all locally stored configurations and credentials.

Children's Privacy

Monitarr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
